Two men were arrested after a violent road rage incident escalated into a stabbing in Broome County, New York. The confrontation, which occurred along Interstate 81, resulted in one individual being hospitalized with injuries and both parties facing criminal charges.
According to New York State Police, the incident occurred after two vehicles were involved in aggressive driving behavior on I-81 Southbound. At some point, both vehicles pulled over near Exit 6 in the town of Dickinson, where a physical altercation broke out between the drivers.
During the fight, one man allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the other in the arm. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
State troopers arrested both individuals involved. One man was charged with felony second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, while the other was also taken into custody for disorderly conduct and initiating the confrontation.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the individuals, pending further investigation. The case remains under review by the Broome County District Attorney’s Office.
