Deputies Seek Public's Help in Locating Suspect After San Antonio Double Shooting

Bexar County Sheriff's Office Investigating Shooting Spree in Quiet Neighborhood

Authorities in Bexar County are calling on the public for assistance in locating Kevin Michael Balditt, a suspect wanted in connection with a double shooting incident that occurred just minutes apart on July 22, 2025. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has issued multiple arrest warrants for Balditt and warns that he remains at large.

The shootings targeted two separate residences in a neighborhood just miles apart—one on Pure Silver, and the other on Silver Hollow. The investigation has since escalated, with digital evidence, video surveillance, and physical items linking Balditt to both crime scenes.

Timeline of the Incident

Deputies first responded to a report of shots fired at a parked vehicle on Pure Silver. The windshield had been struck, but fortunately, no one inside was injured. As officers were en route, a second shooting occurred nearby, this time at a residence on Silver Hollow. This incident caused visible damage to the vehicle, garage door, and front door of the home.

Investigators quickly pieced together a possible motive. Both victims had reportedly engaged in a heated group text exchange with Balditt earlier in the day, during which threats were allegedly made.

A brown GMC Sierra, believed to have been used in both shootings, was identified in surveillance footage from the crime scenes.

Evidence Ties Balditt to Both Shootings

On July 23, the day following the shootings, deputies executed search warrants at a home on Lateleaf Oak, where Balditt was believed to reside or have access. The search yielded:

  • Two handguns

  • Shell casings matching those recovered at the crime scenes

  • Surveillance footage

  • Balditt’s personal cellphone

Digital forensic evidence confirmed Balditt’s presence at both locations during the times of the shootings. When questioned, Balditt admitted to driving the vehicle involved but claimed that another individual had fired the weapon.

Despite this claim, Balditt now faces the following charges:

  • Four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

  • One count of deadly conduct

As of this writing, Kevin Michael Balditt remains at large. Authorities ask that anyone with information about his whereabouts call (210) 335-6000 or email BCSOTIPS@bexar.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

What Victims of Violent Crime Should Know

Victims affected by shootings, even when not physically injured, often suffer lasting emotional and psychological trauma. They may also face property damage, financial instability, and security concerns long after the initial act of violence.

In situations like this, where a known suspect commits an act of violence and causes personal and property damage, victims may have grounds for civil litigation. Even when the criminal process is ongoing—or the suspect is still at large—civil justice allows victims to:

  • Seek compensation for property damage

  • Recover emotional distress and trauma-related damages

  • Hold perpetrators financially accountable

  • Secure restraining orders or protective measures

In some cases, victims may also explore liability beyond the shooter, including third parties who may have enabled or failed to prevent the incident.
