On the evening of Sunday, May 4, 2025, a violent confrontation erupted outside a Zaxby’s restaurant in Powder Springs, Georgia, resulting in the death of 17-year-old William Renfro of Dallas and injuries to two other juveniles. According to Powder Springs police, the altercation was prearranged, with the involved parties gathering at the Brownsville Commons shopping center specifically to engage in a fight .
At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a fight in progress in the parking lot of the Kroger located at 4400 Brownsville Road. Upon arrival, they encountered a crowd of mostly juveniles near the entrance of the adjacent Zaxby’s restaurant at 4410 Brownsville Road. Three male juveniles were found with stab wounds and were transported to nearby hospitals. Tragically, Renfro succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have arrested 17-year-old Markevon Williams of Powder Springs and another unnamed juvenile in connection with the incident. Both suspects face multiple charges, including murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery. The investigation remains active, and police have indicated that additional arrests may be forthcoming.
